I swear my kid can crawl.

June 24, 2012

We attempted to get a video of Luke crawling.  After 5 tries we were still unsucessful, but as you can see he was trying so hard.

Eating shaved ice with mom

He is so cute!

Being silly!

Another failed attempt.  I promise we have proof!

Finally, here's the proof!

I love his "fluffy" booty!

Not only does he crawl now, but he has decided it's fun to crawl on us.  I do not look very pretty at all.  :/  Ugh!

He's so cute!  It's fun to watch him crawl around the house; he looks so little!

Learning new things!

June 19, 2012

Our Luke is getting so big!  He's starting to learn new things!

As of right now he can only do this from my lap.

Eating Mums Mums.  It's a rice rusk that he can gum on and it dissolves in his mouth.

Luke really doesn't enjoy eating with spoons, but we had bought a bunch of jars, so we had to find a way for Luke to eat those jars.  I decided to try a straw since Luke can suck the food from the pouches, and he did awesome.

Showing off his straw skills!  He's such a ham!

My baby loves peaches...like LOVES them!  Here's the proof!

Luke is so silly and we just love playing with him!

Trying to get the camera!

Daddy's Weekend

We got to celebrate my first Father's Day and it was a lot of fun. On Saturday, the local waterpark, Hawaiian Falls, held its annual evening for the neighborhood we live in. They opened the park just for the homes in our HOA from 6pm to 10pm and it was free. There was a DJ, cheap hot dogs and ice cream, and lots of fun and splashing around. Luke and Jen and I enjoyed the wave pool and the lazy river. We walked around the park and we took turns holding Luke while the other tried out a slide. It was so much fun. We're sure Luke will want us to take him there often as he gets bigger. I apologize for my pasty white complexion. :)

On Sunday I opened my gifts. I got a card from Jen and a great picture frame from Luke. Jen had taken pictures of Luke holding letters that spelled out D-A-D. It's great and I can't wait to hang it up.

Jen had made cinnamon pull-a-part bread for me for breakfast and then I got a yummy dinner with some A&W root beer that our church handed out to all the dads. Lukey was eyeing my bottle though and managed to get a swig.

Jen also made dessert of course. It's strawberry icebox cake which is layers of graham cracker, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and topped with a chocolate ganache. It was so lite and fresh and a great summer dessert.

Thanks to my wonderful wife and son for making this the best Father's Day ever. Even if it is just my first. I love you, Luke and Jen!

Oh how we love this face

This kid seriously makes the best faces.  It doesn't matter whether they are silly, happy, sad, fussy, shy, they are all awesome!  Here are some great ones from the last few weeks.

Hanging out in the sling.

Luke loves to eat straight from the jar!

Eating grapes in the mesh with no hands!

This. face. rocks.
(he doesn't even look like himself)

Playing with the outlets. Don't worry they are covered.

Figuring out the crawling thing. More like scooting backwards, but he's great at that!

Up on all fours!

He looks guilty...

Tuesday June 5th Brian and I celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!  I even got dressed up!

(I feel like this picture is not at all flattering. Boo!)

Love us!

We went out to dinner at Maggiano's (a yummy Italian place).  Luke was not cooperative at all.  :(

I love his shy, sleepy smile.

Been sleeping like this since he was a little guy!

More scooting backwards and rocking.  Forward crawling should be coming soon!

Super baby!

Kisses

Love him!

Mom is being silly

Trying out a new breakfast

The packaging tastes good

So does the inside

Well, maybe not...

Luke LOVES peaches! Like really loves them! There will probably be a whole post on this later. :)

My little reader! Just like his mommy!

We love Luke so much!  It's so fun watching him discover new things and figuring out his personality.  He's a silly kid!
