Visit from Friends

June 3, 2012

Today was a fun day!  We got a visit from some friends from Salt Lake City, The Post's!  I was so excited to see Kyle and Kourtney!  The last time I saw them was on their wedding day, which was also the weekend that I moved from Salt Lake to Los Angeles (September 2009).  Kyle and Kourtney have a little girl, Avery, who is 11 months old, and I was so excited to meet Avery and have her and Luke play together.  We got some great pictures.  There are so many cute ones.

Luke is so excited to meet a new friend!

Avery is very active.  She was crawling everywhere and pulling her self up on whatever she could.  We couldn't keep her still.  :) I guess it's a good indication of what I'll be experiencing soon with Luke.

Avery loved to shower Luke with kisses!  It was so cute!

Luke wasn't sure about all this affection.  :)

Luke also had to learn to share his toys!

She's so cute!

Ha ha.  I just love Luke's faces!

We were so glad they were able to take some time to visit us during lots of family gatherings!  It was so great to see them!

Big Bear

The Ingram family took a trip to Costco to get a few things and as we headed to the checkout stand we came across a bin of giant stuffed teddy bears. They're 53" tall, soft, and there was no way we were leaving without one for our Little Cub. It's so big it rode home in the passenger seat. We wanted to see if any other drivers would notice.

Luke was very pleased with his new friend. Big Bear will be perfect for years to come to snuggle with for a movie or to wrestle.

And we have the perfect place to keep Big Bear. He relaxes in the rocker while he waits to play with Luke.

In Lukey's Own Words

We love taking pictures of Luke but what you at home miss out on is the things he says while we're taking them. I present you Lukey in his own words and completely uncensored...

 Isn't my mom cute?

It stays on Sesame Street and I'm licking the remote so you can't change the channel!

...and Luke ran away with the spoon. Ha, ha. Get it?!

 Mmmmm.

What's that? I have something on my mouth?

That hit the spot.

Buuurrp!!

This one's F as in fone, Dad.

And this one's N as in nife.

Dad, why isn't W called double V?

I got it, Dad. I got it. I got it!

OK. One smiling pose for my fans of the blog.

I ate it all like a big boy.

There's dessert too?!

The camera loves me.

 Oh, man. What a day.

We love him. Even if he is a stinker.

Brian's Old Stuff

My parents brought up the last of my boxes of things they had stored at their place. They've been bringing it up little by little because I was kind of a hoarder with all my old toys and such. But Luke will have the best toys in the neighborhood to play with one day! As I was going through things I came across old posters and a basketball hat I had made. My friend Josh and I went to lots of high school and Baylor games together and went nuts. We even made it on TV and the newspaper a couple times.

Try hitting a free throw with that guy yelling at you.

It's that time of year when sweet watermelons start to hit the grocery stores. We got one and shared with Luke. We put some in his mesh feeder and he loved sucking the watermelon out. We also tried peeling some grapes to put in there and he loved those too.

Luke's learned to eat better too. He takes spoonfuls of baby food now from us instead of always having to hold the spoon himself. He also like to eat straight from the bowl.

And Jen made a new dessert recently and it was soooooo good. It's peanut butter cup s'mores. It has a baked cookie dough with graham cracker on the top and bottom, and a layer of Reese's peanut butter cups, and a layer of marshmallow cream. Ridiculously good!

Luke's starting to show more signs of crawling. He can lift himself up high on his hands and get his knees under him. He can reach and stretch to grab things.

I got up in the attic over our garage and nailed down the decking my dad helped me throw up there. We've gone from 60 sq ft to 120 sq ft. Tons of room for storage. We love it.

Big thanks to my dad for showing me how's it done. All those years of being his helper around the house are starting to pay off.
