The Results Are In

February 3, 2011

We're having a baby!
I had figured it out a few days before taking the test.  I just felt so different, but Brian didn't believe me.  One day I stopped and bought a test and demanded that we find out for sure.  Ha ha.  Here's our expressions!

Yep, he's a little scared.  I'm sure that's normal!
We are shocked and thrilled at the idea of becoming parents.

Baby Ingram is due October 11, 2011!

Brian's Birthday!

Friday January 28, 2011

Brian was lucky and his birthday fell on a Friday this year!  I woke up early to make him cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  They were soooo yummy!  Do you like his Yoda badge too?  I found that and had to get it for him.  :)  He wore it proudly all day!

Brian's desk was decorated by co-workers at work, so he snapped a couple of pictures to share with me.

We went out to Krua Thai, Brian's favorite Thai place out here.  We ordered Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Pad See Ew.  So delicious!

When we got home Brian was ready to open his gifts!

We loved the pickle card from Josh Pittman.  Gotta love big pickles!

I got Brian some gear from Warner Brothers that I had seen when we did our tour back in December.  Brian's dream is to be a writer and I wanted him to have things around him to remind him of his dream!  So, now he has a shirt, pen, and mug!

My big surprise was dessert.  Brian loves, LOVES pie, so I knew that's what I needed to get him.  I tried to be secretive and go to The Apple Pan (where we had some amazing Cherry Cream Pie before), but somehow Brian figured out what I was up too, probably because he had been hinting about pies for weeks leading up to his birthday.  But, I actually did surprise him...

It was Banana Cream Pie!  Check out the inside.  Serious bananas and cream going on!

I think he enjoyed it...

Trip to Texas Part 3

Monday January 17, 2011

Happy birthday to me!!! The 17th is not actually my birthday. It's the 28th but I was there and the family wanted to celebrate early since I'm usually not in Texas much. We went to Texas Roadhouse since Jen and I love that place and there's not one in LA. After eating a nice meal with the family we came home to a giant cookie. This is what my family usually got for bithdays instead of the traditional cake. Mine is a basketball theme since I love college basketball and we were going to a game that night.

Here I am with my bear claw up. Sic' em, Bears!

This is a pic of me with a bobble-head of the Lady Bears basketball coach, Kim Mulkey just because.

My niece, Averie, assisted with the candles like a pro.

Averie brought out all the stuffed animals in the house for a photo op.

Time to head to the Ferrell Center and watch the men's basketball team host the Kansas Jayhawks. Here's the scene and excitement...

The excitement lasted only a few minutes as we got trounced 85-65 and it wasn't even that close. Better luck next year. That concluded our Texas trip and we headed back home the next day. Thanks to my parents for hosting us. We love you! Hope to come out again soon.

P.S. We goofed around at the airport on the way back. Enjoy...

Trip to Texas Part 2

Saturday January 15, 2011

For the weekend we headed out to the Fort Worth area to hang out with Brian's mom's side of the family.  She has 4 sisters and Brian has 8 first cousins (if I counted right...I hope I did).  We went to his cousin Angie's house to mingle and eat yummy BBQ.

Angie's family has a huge backyard with chickens.  Here we are checking them out.

This is Averie (our niece) and I posing with the chicken coop.

Here's the family's dog Snickers.  He's huge!  Brian loves dogs though so he was happy.

Brian got to hold one of the chickens.  I declined.

It was so fun to meet everyone and just to hang out.  I love family gatherings.  We also had some delicious brisket.  SO GOOD!

We left the gathering to go make a couple of other visits.  We stopped by Brian's best friend Josh's home (Josh was the best man at our wedding) so we could say hello to his family.  It was pretty late when we got there so we visited with their kids for a little bit before bedtime and just got to talk to Josh and Joanna for a little bit.  Brian wanted a picture with their dog Winston!

After visiting the Pittman's we drove to Dallas to see my sister and David and to spend the night there.

Sunday January 16, 2011

In the morning Brian got this picture of their dog Bruiser.  Brian was all about the pets on this trip.

We got up and went out to breakfast with Courtney and David.  It was fun to spend time with them even if it was a short visit.

Brian said I was having a good hair day and snapped this picture.

Here's Courtney and I.  Love my sister!

Here's Courtney and David!  Thanks you two for letting us stop by for a short visit.  We loved the accommodations and spending time with you!  You're the best!

After we left Dallas we headed back to Fort Worth to the Stock Yards.  We were headed to Brian's cousin Ryan's Texas Wedding Luncheon.  Ryan and Jessica had gotten married back in November down in Mexico and decided to have a celebration in Texas too.  We were so happy to be able to go and celebrate with them.

The Reception was in a ballroom within the stock yards, which is huge.  They had great food and music and an awesome slide show of their pictures from the wedding.

Here's the Bride and Groom with Brian's Aunt and Uncle.  The good news is that Ryan and Jessica moved to Oceanside so now we can visit more when we head down that way!

We drove back to Waco Sunday evening and our nephew Jackson spent the night.  He loves to play board games and enjoys kicking out rears even more!

We play his favorite Monopoly.  Jackson really is a good wheeler and dealer.  You don't want to mess with him or his plan to rule!

We are definitely embarrassed that he beat us again, but he had a good time!  :)

It was such a great weekend spent with family!

Trip to Texas Part 1

Thursday January 13, 2011

Brian and I got to go visit family in Texas at the beginning of the year and we were excited!  It had been over a year since our last visit and I was looking forward to meeting lots of Brian's extended family.

We left really early in the morning.  Brian slept on the flight to Dallas while I started reading a book.  I got really caught up in the book and the next thing I knew we landed and exhaustion hit me.  We arrived to DFW a little late and needed to catch a connecting flight to Waco.  We didn't have enough time and we missed our plane by 1 minute.  They closed the gate 10 minutes before departure and we were stuck.
There's our plane.  :(  They did book us on the next flight, but we had 3 1/2 hours to kill before that.  We immediately called Brian's parents so they wouldn't head to the airport to get us.  Sadly, Brian's dad had already left and didn't have a cell phone on him.  We felt awful.  When he noticed that we didn't get off our flight he headed home and then made the trip back to the airport when we did arrive.  Sorry!

So, as we had 3 1/2 hours to kill we wandered around the airport.  We heard about some art that was in one of the terminals so we headed there to check it out.  First we came across this castle!

We then found the art work, which were cool tile mosaics on the ground.  Here's Brian soaring through the air on a bird.  Ha ha.

Oh, and I found Tony Romo!

There was this other cool sculpture and we had to video our adventure.

We finally boarded a plane and I desperately wanted to get some shut eye.  Unfortunately the flight is super short so I didn't get to sleep.  Brian did point out this awesome view from the air.

Friday January 14, 2011
Friday we hung around Waco.  I woke up with a cold (probably from lack of sleep) and it was chilly outside.  We did take a little trip to see the high school's new football stadium.  It's really nice but I guess Texas does take their football seriously!

That night we stayed at home and hung out with the family.  Here's a silly picture of Brian with our nephew Jackson!
