Daddy's Weekend

We got to celebrate my first Father's Day and it was a lot of fun. On Saturday, the local waterpark, Hawaiian Falls, held its annual evening for the neighborhood we live in. They opened the park just for the homes in our HOA from 6pm to 10pm and it was free. There was a DJ, cheap hot dogs and ice cream, and lots of fun and splashing around. Luke and Jen and I enjoyed the wave pool and the lazy river. We walked around the park and we took turns holding Luke while the other tried out a slide. It was so much fun. We're sure Luke will want us to take him there often as he gets bigger. I apologize for my pasty white complexion. :)

On Sunday I opened my gifts. I got a card from Jen and a great picture frame from Luke. Jen had taken pictures of Luke holding letters that spelled out D-A-D. It's great and I can't wait to hang it up.

Jen had made cinnamon pull-a-part bread for me for breakfast and then I got a yummy dinner with some A&W root beer that our church handed out to all the dads. Lukey was eyeing my bottle though and managed to get a swig.

Jen also made dessert of course. It's strawberry icebox cake which is layers of graham cracker, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and topped with a chocolate ganache. It was so lite and fresh and a great summer dessert.

Thanks to my wonderful wife and son for making this the best Father's Day ever. Even if it is just my first. I love you, Luke and Jen!
