San Francisco- Sunday

Sunday October 3, 2010

We woke up Sunday ready for our last half day in beautiful and chilly San Francisco!  We wanted to start the day off right with a delicious breakfast.

We decided on Sears' Fine Food, which is famous for little pancakes!

Brian and I each ordered the 18 Swedish Pancakes which came with several slices of bacon (extra crispy of course).  It was a lot of food!

My BB loved the little pancakes!  They were delicious!

We headed to Union Square again and stopped at this heart for a picture together (we found a couple who Brian took a picture for and then they took ours).

It was a little rainy but eventually cleared up.

We went to the other side of Union Square and picked up these.  Don't we look cute??

We got these in order to Ride the Ducks!

This is a little tour bus/boat that traveled around San Francisco and we got to see a different area of San Fran!  Here we are on the bus rocking out to fun songs with our quackers!

Our guide was hilarious!  I laughed the whole tour.  We heard lots of different facts about the city as we drove along.

Here's AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants.

Right by the baseball park we changed from tour bus to tour boat!

We are in the water crusing by the big ships!

Here's the Oakland Bridge.

This is a beautiful view of the city from the East side (Alcatraz is the North side).

Awesome shot of the baseball park again.

So, while we were going along in the water our guide started letting the kids aboard drive the boat.  After the kiddies turn he let me!  Check it out!  Brian came up to take some pictures!

Still driving, but I'm not watching where I'm going...oops!

A kiss with our quackers!

Brian then had to take a video too!  He's so funny!

Brian also got the chance to drive the boat too!  Doesn't he look great?

Here we are passing by another tour group.

When we got out of the water we drove more by the baseball park.  The Giants were playing the Padres that weekend to determine who was going to win the division.  Sadly the Padres lost and the Giants went on to win the World Series (Just so you know, I was cheering for the Texas Rangers).  Brian did get some good shots outside the park.

Oakland Bridge again.

This is a really cool bow and arrow statue. Apparently, the city commissioned an artist to do a piece of art and he could do anything he wanted. He talked to lots of San Francisco citizens and decided that everyone was so in love with the city it's like they were shot through the heart with Cupid's arrow. So he created this giant sculpture of an arrow being shot into the city.

This is Coit Tower.  We didn't get any closer though to check out. Coit was a wealthy woman that grew up loving the fire dept and she had this tower built to honor them.

The top of this picture shows Lombard Street.

Fireman statue with a rescued girl. Another tribute from Coit.

We drove through the markets of Chinatown.  It's quite the happening place.  The produce was super cheap!

We then arrived back at Union Square.  It was a great 90 minute tour of the town.  We got to see some new stuff and had a great time while doing it.  Definitely a fun adventure!

So, we returned to our hotel to check out and then we just wandered around a little bit more before heading to the BART station.  This is a really cool mural near where we were staying.

We were walking by some of the shops and came across this cute little guy in a clothing store.

So we went inside to say hello!  He was so calm and friendly!

Goodbye Union Square (love that I have a strand of hair in front of my face).

Here's the BART that we rode back to the airport!

We had an awesome time in San Francisco.  I'm so glad that we had the chance to go and experience some really great things together!
