Full Term

Tuesday September 20, 2011

Today I hit full term (aka 37 weeks).  This pretty much means that if our little guy wanted to come now, he could.  Part of me wishes he would.  :)  The other part of me is not ready yet, and probably never will me.  Here's a picture of me in my full term "glory".

Yes, I'm huge!  People have been asking me for weeks if I'm due any day now.  Ummm...not quite.  Our little man has been measuring quite big, plus I've had those high fluid levels that are being monitored.

It's been an interesting pregnancy, nothing like I thought being pregnant would be.  I'm not sure that I was really prepared for all that my body has gone through.  Here are some highlights (or lowlights) from each trimester.

First:
Morning/all day sickness
Extreme tiredness
Strange aversion to foods (I was completely disgusted by chicken)
Craving for ice

Second:
My craving for ice transformed into Slurpee's and I had to have one almost daily
More energy
Normal appetite
Starting to feel the baby move around.

Third:
Feeling so much movement from my baby.  It doesn't always feel good.
Stretch marks- so gross.  I hate them
Having to limit sugar (no more daily Slurpee's...yeah it sucks)
Feeling really sore all over
Dealing with the hottest Texas summer on record

Sounds like fun, right?  It hasn't been bad.

Brian and I took some classes at my hospital to help us prepare.  They were really beneficial and Brian enjoyed the free meals we were provided at each of these.  I think Brian is going to do great with the labor and  delivery.  He's really good at calming me down and making me relaxed.  I was worried when we first found out about the baby because Brian is not a fan of needles and things, but he's prepared and promises that he will be okay.

We also had a car seat check this week.  Here's a couple of pictures of us installing our seat.

We are just about ready for the little guy to arrive.  Just a few more big events need to happen first.  More on that to come soon.

Taylor's in Texas- Part 2

Saturday August 27, 2011

Brian's awesome sister along with their aunt Donna and my sister put together this awesome baby shower for me and Baby Ingram.  It was so great, especially having my mom in town and present.  Here are some pictures from the day.

My sister made these cute flower arrangements and banner.  It's nice to have a crafty sister so close to craft with in the future!

Here I am with all the loot!

This is me with Brian's mom.

This is our niece Averie.  Baby Ingram is going to be her only first cousin.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch of waffles, egg casserole, potatoes, and lots of yummy fresh fruit.

Brian was with me.  The majority of the guests were his family so it was fun for him to catch up with everyone too.  He was also very helpful in opening the presents.

My mom had to get a nice side shot of me to show how big I've gotten.  Nice, huh?

Dessert was these beautiful and delicious cakes.

It was such a great shower and we are thankful for the many wonderful gifts for our baby.  I am so grateful to my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, Aunt Donna, and sister Courtney for all they did to make the day special as well as everyone who attended.

Later that night we had a BBQ at Courtney and David's.  We ate some yummy chicken and sides, but boy was I tired from the day and my poor feet and ankles were so swollen.  Brian snapped this picture while I was resting on the couch.

It was a long but fun day!

Sunday August 28, 2011

In the morning we went out to brunch.  Yep, we were all about the food this weekend.  We went to a restaurant called The Grape.

We shared a starter of pull apart cake.  It was yummy.

I ordered the waffle which was covered in whipcream and strawberries.

Brian got eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast.  We split our food though because I really am supposed to be eating more protein (with my high fluid levels I mentioned before) and I had been eating lots of sugar over the course of the weekend.

Here's us 3 girls.

We took some more pictures when we got back to Court's.

We sure did miss Noah.  :(  We had such a great weekend and I was so glad to spend time with everyone!  Thanks for spoiling us!

The Taylor's Come to Texas- Part 1

Wednesday August 24, 2011

I was so excited to have my parents come visit.  They just had to come visit Courtney, Me, and their grandson growing in my belly!  We had a fun time; my parents spoiled me and boy did we eat a lot over the long weekend.  They arrived on Wednesday afternoon and we spent some time catching up while everyone was still at work.  My mom also helped me to start a quilting project for my baby (more on this project will come in a later post). Once everyone got home from work we went out for some BBQ at Red Hot and Blue.

The food was so good!  We love good BBQ.  We then went back to Courtney and David's for some cheesecake that I made to celebrate my parent's anniversary which was on August 21st.

Brian was so full after that he had to skip breakfast the next day.  :)

Thursday August 25, 2011

Thursday, my parents took me out to breakfast at the Cracker Barrel.  They love this place...I haven't figured out what makes it so special, but I'm not one to turn down food.  We then drove around and did some shopping, and I showed them the hospital where I'll be delivering.  They plan on coming out again when baby comes.  Then that night we went out to a steak house called Del Frisco's in Addison.

Brian had to get a belly shot...I'm 33 weeks here.

Here are shots of us all during dinner.  Dallas was at the end of Restaurant Week, so they had a good deal on an appetiser, entree, and dessert dishe.  Brian and I shared one.  The steak was delicious.

Friday August 26, 2011

My mom and I spent Friday working on the quilt while my dad hung out with David.  We got a lot accomplished.  We also just relaxed a bit.  That night we went to another restaurant for Restaurant Week.  This time we went to The Dragonfly in Uptown (which is the top part of downtown Dallas...ha ha).  Brian was better at documenting dinner probably because we were seated in a private room, which was actually the wine room.  It was nice and cold in there which I thought was great...but everyone else was desperate for a sweater.

Brian and I with our appetizers.  The Dragonfly is more of a modern American type so their portions were on the small side, but everything was really good.  I got a green "salad" and Brian had gazpacho.

Since we had steak the night before, Brian and I both ordered the tea crusted chicken.  It came with fresh watermelon and blackberries, a corn type mush, and fried okra.  The chicken was really really moist and delicious!

On to the best course...dessert!  Brian got a rice krispy treat topped with Panna Cotta with a yummy guava sauce.

I got a cookies and creme ice cream sandwich.  It was good, but I ended up loving Brian's better.  He was nice enough to switch with me.

The other dessert option that both David and my mom got was a peanut butter filled chocolate cake with a shot of milk.  Can you see the cute shot glass?  I thought that was awesome!

It was another delicious dinner.

More food and fun to come.  Stay tuned.
